1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. We also use similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage (localStorage), for the same purpose of remembering information between visits.
2. Categories we use
On orbitbook.io we use two categories:
- Strictly necessary: required for the site to work as expected (for example, remembering your cookie choice). These cannot be turned off.
- Marketing: they let us show you our ads on Meta and measure which ones work. They are on by default and you can turn them off at any time.
3. Cookies and technologies we use
| Cookie / technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
orbit_consent (localStorage) | Orbit (orbitbook.io) | Remembers your cookie choice (accepted or rejected marketing cookies) | Persistent, until you clear it or change your choice | Strictly necessary |
_fbp | Meta (Facebook/Instagram) | Identifies your browser to measure and attribute ad conversions | 90 days | Marketing |
_fbc | Meta (Facebook/Instagram) | Records ad-click attribution when you arrive via a Meta ad | 90 days | Marketing |
| youtube-nocookie.com | Google / YouTube | Plays the embedded video; only loads tracking content if you press play | Not applicable (no cookie is set on page load) | Strictly necessary |
| Google Fonts | Loads the Inter typeface used across the site | Not applicable (no cookie is set) | Strictly necessary |
In addition to browser cookies, when you accept marketing cookies and book a demo, we also send a matching event from our own server (backend.orbitbook.io) to Meta's Conversions API, including your IP address, user agent and, for a confirmed booking, your email, phone number and name hashed with SHA-256. This server-side send is not a cookie, but it is part of the same ad measurement and is governed by the same consent.
4. How to change your choice
Marketing cookies are on by default. You can turn them off whenever you like from the "Cookie settings" link in this site's footer: turning them off stops the Meta Pixel from loading and stops the _fbp / _fbc cookies from being set, and you can turn them back on from the same link.
5. Browser controls
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies from their privacy settings. Doing so may affect how some parts of the site work, although basic browsing of orbitbook.io will still function.
